Hasta La Vista

My college life went like "GRAPES" : sour in beginning  then it became sweeter and now the Wine of these grapes will taste amazing as the time will pass away.

After school every one has huge expectations from their college :
Top college, best faculty, new BFFs, modern infrastructure, intercollege fests,  events, different clubs, societies, hostel life and a new level of freedom after school.

Firstly, my college was not the top college infact it's moribund now in our engineering department. It has nice infrastructure but their construction never stopped. Actually, our auditorium was under construction from 2 years before I took admission at there and now after 4 years when I am passing out it still need 2 more years to be constructed. Clubs and societies are scarce at our building but the building of dental in front of us usually host best events. Some events happen at our place too but most of them get cancelled at last minute.

The first 4 days at there passed like 4 years but now these 4 years felt like 4 days.
Reason of survival is : Friends and some good teachers. Every other department used to envy from us because of our cool faculty who let us play when we were not in the mood of study and sometimes play with us. Dumbsharas, pen fighting, plane fighting and indeed we played all of our childhood games in class of engineering and of course we played volleyball, football and cricket as well. We had engineering drawing as a subject for 2 semesters which we hopefully passed but the best drawing we used to do on our green boards just like KG kids and indeed we draw those KG drawings on the board like home, hut, cars, sun, stars, cartoons and abstract versions of our creative arts.

Our class strength was low  but every person has different personality. One wants to become entrepreneur, other wants to be CEO. One thought of becoming 'baba' once, others just want to be software developer. One was doing "CA" in his imagination and some are planning to settle in 'Kanadda'(Canada) while other people plans are still confidential. But we are all united at times of exams or bunking the class or pulling each other legs and laughing on our own  insults.

Well, after 2 lectures we all begin to yawn and if someone casually asks to bunk the next classes or the whole day everyone agreed all at once. When it comes to exam season which comes 6 times in a year that is  4 Mid terms, 2 internals, 2 externals and 2 times final exams  for 6 subjects per semester (per exam) and of course I am not counting any assignments and class tests as we neither make it nor give it. How? Well, advantages of being favorite class, unity and comradeship with teachers. In last days of exam we used to divide topics for units and then we do the group studies where every person teaches their alloted topics. Sometimes we also become last minute tutors to each other when explain the entire subject to all  so to pass the exams. And being an engineer, we just need to know the meaning of question's words then its a piece of cake to write 4 pages from that one word. In the end, it's all about filling those 40 pages sheet and the exam analysis begin with how many sheets you had filled? And starting first hour of exam (out of 3 hrs)  passed in completing 1 unit while in last 1 hour we complete 3 units. We were surrounded by cheating experts like micro doesn't mean microcontroller or microsoft or microcomputer, it means a piece of paper on which the entire book is copied and the font size is in 'micro'. And when we get out from exam hall those micros were like carpet on the floor.

During the exam most of the student's phone gallery was filled with screenshots or photos of notes. The class whatsapp group has its own story. Although it remains silent when anyone drops a question that's why the group name changes soo often to tell everyone what's happening. Everyone's heartbeat get rises when someone says in the group that "Result agya" ( Result came) and then checking our result when site crashed (mostly at that time due to load) and then checking we passed or failed or do we have any backlogs? was the most suspenseful time. If it's good then telling everyone about it and if it's bad then remain silent. In engineering life, we gave too many exams and viva that now it feels like we can give any exam of the world.

There are lots of memories we had made on and off campus. Freshers party was cool, Engineering day had always its own twists, sports days were also all about fun , seminars and guest lectures were also part of enjoyment. We can make instant plans and infact we had pulled a great Teacher's day event in just 4 hours. Collecting chillars(coins) from each of us to buy cake for Teacher's birthdays. Well, the birthday parties we had are soo hilarious that we are banned from every place we had gone once. But still the college life would be incomplete if I don't mention about the "TRIP". We had gone to 2 trips : one to Manali and one to Amritsar. We tried for third one but it never happen. Officially, they were industrial tours and normally it's all about fun, friends, adventure, masti, antakshri, DJ nights, traveling, bonding, daring, exploring, cheering and everything in between. Those trips are best part of our college life as it has most cool and funny memories.

It's fact that "In engineering college you don't really learn engineering, you learn 'How to deal with the world' that's why we can do anything in our life". In my case, I learnt every possible life lessons in these 4 years and it almost made me a philosopher who wrote all her life learnings on this blog.

So, here's my message to  that every person who was part of my engineering college life and family either teachers, seniors, juniors or my dear batchmates and classmates -
" Thankyou soo much for giving me such a unique ,crazy and incredible college experience. Don't know when we met again, you will go towards your dreams and I will go for my path. We might met at some point in our life but I promise you that I will always remember you all. "
I will miss you💜

Beautiful memories of college life:
